Flight Line Products has leased a 58,000 square foot building in preparation to grow as a result of being acquired by Wencor Group LLC.

In expansion mode, Flight Line Products of Santa Clarita has leased a 58,000 square foot industrial building on North Avenue Williams in Valencia, and joined Utah-based Wencor Group LLC.

Wencor Group announced the acquisition of Flight Line Products Jan. 2.

Founded by a long time Santa Clarita resident, Flight Line has been manufacturing and repairing interior products – seats, arm rests, food trays, and more – to the commercial airline industry since 1999. Wencor, with 12 different businesses, is also a parts supplier to the airline industry.

Founder, Michael Muschenheim, now assumes the role of newly formed Flight Line Products LLC, a division of the Wencor Group.

“We were located in six facilities, two of which we own,” Muschenheim said. “With the new building we added 21,000 square feet and consolidated into three buildings. We now occupy almost 100,000 square feet of space.”

NAI Capital represented the landlord in the long term lease, but terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Flight Line Products exports 70 percent of its products, Muschenheim said. The engineering company manufactures, repairs, distributes, and provides services to the airline industry.

Joining Wencor was a very compatible business match and there was “mutual admiration between the companies,” Muschenheim said.

The acquisition by Wencor allows Flight Line Products to increase its sales staff from five or six people to 30 or 40 people, he said.

Currently, Wencor has 120 employees but those numbers will grow too.

“There will be more product and services shipped to Valencia,” Muschenheim said. “Our location has been recognized as a key facility. It’s a net positive for Santa Clarita, for the business and the people that work here.”

A resident since 1984, this is the second business Muschenheim has started and grown locally. With his wife, a resident since the 60s, the pair has raised their children, locally.

“Santa Clarita is a fantastic place to have your home, raise your children, and grow a business,” he said. “Its business friendly and we’ve been using the Enterprise Zone for the last three years.”
