Prince of Peace Lutheran church celebrated their Grand Opening Sunday Dec. 15 with tremendous fanfare.

Robby Robinson & Friends brought the house down with a spectacular Christian Rock concert and dedication ceremony. Festivities kicked off with Prince of Peace Musical Director Gary Janney leading the congregation in song and passing the baton to Robby Robinson.

A formal dedication of the facility was led by senior Pastor Thomas Cizmar, Seekin’ Deacon Barry Beckett, and assisted by leadership from sister congregation Bethlehem SCV.

Cizmar passed out awards to members of the community who were instrumental in helping Prince of Peace open their new facility.

Other notable attendees included Councilman Timben Boydston who accepted an award on behalf of Mayor Kellar and the rest of the City Council acknowledging their help in opening the doors at the new facility.

Touted by its members as “The Best Little Lutheran Church in Santa Clarita,” Prince of Peace has seen attendance double since opening the doors of their facility Nov. 17.

“The Lord has blessed us tremendously,” Cizmar said. “People like our no-frills and boldly traditional approach - and we hope they continue to. As we like to say around here there are no gimmicks, just Christ!”

Ministry continues to flourish at Prince of Peace with the launch of their new couples program, “couples and Christ,” focusing on couples both young and old and led by a young couple in the congregation. The church also launched their women's group “Women of Peace,” which is working diligently to assemble an outreach team to support the various non-profit organizations in Santa Clarita.

As the congregation continues to grow, so do the families and with it the children’s programs. Prince of Peace’s weekly Sunday school program has doubled, and a children’s choir is in the works. The children’s youth group “Kids 4 Jesus” has also continued to grow steadily with lots of activities on the calendar including plans to add mid-week events.

“Children are not just the future of society, but the future of Christianity,” Cizmar said. “We need to nurture them and feed their soul with scripture. While families are most definitely a focal point for us at Prince of Peace, it should be the focal point of any church.”

With steadfast and continued growth of the church, service once a week just doesn’t look like it will cut it much longer.

“At the rate we’re going our expectations are we will need a second service as quickly as mid-January,” Congregation President Paul Oien said. “We’re absolutely thrilled with the success the Lord has blessed us with!”

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church is located at 28159 Avenue Stanford in Valencia CA. You can visit them on the web at They have contemporary worship each Sunday at 10:00 AM.
