On a singles lineup as dominant as Hart’s was this past season, it’s hard to stand out.

Then again, Indians junior Proyfon Lohaphaisan doesn’t play for attention, she plays to win.

In 2013, picking any Hart singles player against the field was a safe bet, but Lohaphaisan proved to be the safest.

The junior may not have the power of teammate Natalia Munoz or the all-court coverage of Hart’s No. 3 Jackie Resler, but Lohaphaisan was simply the most difficult player to beat on the Indians singles lineup in 2013.

This past season, Lohaphaisan posted a 59-3 overall record and was the only tennis player, singles or doubles, to go undefeated against Foothill League opponents.

After going 19-2 in preseason, Lohaphaisan went 27-0 during the Foothill League season before winning the year-end Foothill League tournament at the Paseo Club.

In winning the tournament and qualifying for CIF individuals, she had to beat Canyon’s Katrina DeGuzman — who had defeated Munoz in the semifinals to get to the finals.

But followers of Hart know that this season was defined by the Indians’ playoff success.

In helping Hart reach the CIF-Southern Section Division II semifinals, Lohaphaisan posted an 11-1 record in her sets.

On top of that, the junior was 2-0 during Hart’s run to the second round of the CIF Southern California Regional Championship tournament.

Next season, Lohaphaisan will lead a Hart team that returns most of its key pieces, with the exception of Resler and All-Santa Clarita Valley doubles performers Lauren Dam and Bailey Sindle.
