Mountasia General Manager Michele Stambaugh won the Manager of the Year award for her work with the YES program in employing those with disabilities and the unique employee motivational programs she uses to inspire her employees.
Mountasia's marketing director, Courtney Bourdas-Henn, took home the 2009 Community Service Award for Mountasia's Toys for Fire Victims campaign to assist those who lost their homes in the Oakridge Mobile Home Park fire in November.
Mountasia received support from daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, who helped Mountasia with more than $100,000 in toys and home appliances for the fire victims.
The annual Leisure and Entertainment Industry convention represents many aspects of the entertainment business, including family fun centers and amusement parks.
The convention includes owners, operators and employees from entertainment businesses all over the world.
Convention Chairwoman Dorothy Lewis said Mountasia's two awards are considered two of the industry's top honors.
"We are very impressed with the positive impact Mountasia Fun Center has had on its employees and community," Lewis said. "They are leaders in the family entertainment industry."
Mountasia Fun Center covers seven acres in central Santa Clarita and features 36 holes of miniature golf, go karts, bumper boats, batting cages, a rock-climbing wall, laser tag and a large game arcade.
It can be found on the Web at www.MountasiaFunCenter.com.
