Volunteer naturalist training begins this week

SANTA CLARITA - Placerita Canyon Natural Area begins training this Tuesday for volunteer naturalists who provide tours at the Natural Area and teach children about the environment.

Classes run 9 a.m.-noon Tuesdays and Thursdays for nine weeks and cover topics including native plants and animals, geology, history and interpretive techniques.

A $5 fee covers all training materials; other volunteer opportunities are available that do not require the nine-week training.
