SANTA CLARITA - A garage fire at a Canyon Country home Monday caused an estimated $20,000 damage, fire and law enforcement officials said.

About 12:40 p.m. Monday, firefighters responded to the 19000 block of Four Oaks Street near Crosspath Avenue, just south of Canyon High School, on reports of a house fire, a county fire captain said.

“It was a small contents fire in the garage,” said Capt. Jason Swan of Fire Station 107. “Neighbors assisted in trying to get to it.

“We made sure there was no (fire) extension into the house,” he said.

There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

“It was just in the garage and nobody was home at the time,” said Lt. Tom Bryski of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
