Crochet, not knit

I enjoyed reading the article in The Signal's Senior Living section yesterday (March 16) entitled "Knit together with love."

While the title and emphasis of the article focused on ladies who knit blankets, both photos accompanying the story were of ladies who were crocheting.

For some reason, many (most?) people associate any craft that involves yarn with knitting (using two pointed needles). However, crochet (using one hook) is a centuries-old handcraft that deserves equal attention.
