Yet another ‘messed up situation’

Debate flared quickly over Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson’s interview for GQ magazine.

Responding to a question about what he considered sinful, he reflected on Romans 1:21-28 and paraphrased part of 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, where the Apostle Paul lists homosexual behavior, among other acts, to be sin and warned that those who practice these sins will be disqualified from heaven. Reaction from homosexual activists and the mainstream media has prompted A&E to affirm its strong support of the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender (LGBT) community.

The network then suspended Phil indefinitely from filming the show, apparently because he believes the Bible and bravely said so.

The “Duck Commander” has had substantial support from fans on social media petitions, with some seeing the suspension as a religious liberty concern.

Many agree with Phil’s Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who observed: “It is a messed up situation when Miley Cyrus gets a laugh, and Phil Robertson gets suspended.”
