A big rig fire shut down lanes of the southbound Interstate 5 in Castaic for about an hour on Friday.

The fire was reported around 10:30 a.m. Friday and prompted California Highway Patrol officers to shut down multiple lanes of the freeway near Lake Hughes Road, as well as the freeway off-ramp in the area.

About 11:30 a.m. CHP officers had cleared all lanes, but traffic remained backed up in the area, according to CHP reports.
No one was reported injured in the fire, and the blaze did not spread to brush in the area, according to a CHP official.
