The new chief financial officer for the Santa Clarita Valley’s largest school district has extensive local ties.

Members of the William S. Hart Union High School District board voted to appoint Erin Lillibridge as the district’s new chief financial officer at a special meeting Tuesday.

Lillibridge grew up in the Santa Clarita Valley and is herself a graduate of Hart High School. She later went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in applied ecology from the University of California, Irvine, and a master’s degree in public policy from the University of California, Los Angeles, according to a news release from the district.

Most recently, Lillibridge has worked as the chief business official for the Nuview Union School District in Nuevo, Calif., where she oversaw business and financial office functions, along with other areas such as facilities, maintenance, nutrition and transportation.

She has also previously worked as a budget analyst with the California Department of Finance.

Lillibridge also has family ties to the Santa Clarita Valley. Her husband, Frank Oviedo, currently works as Santa Clarita’s assistant city manager.

The couple has two children, a daughter, 7, and a son, 5, who both attend school in the Saugus Union School District.

Lillibridge will begin her position in January.

She will take over the job that has long been held by Sue Hoerber, who is retiring after 27 years in the Hart district.
