Unseasonably warm temperatures that have driven Santa Clarita Valley residents into shorts and tank tops the last several days will give way to a short-lived but chilly storm front as early as Wednesday night, National Weather Service forecasters said.

Increasing clouds are forecast for Wednesday with a high near 71. South to southwest winds to 15 mph are forecast in the afternoon gusting up to 20 mph.

The storm is expected to bring a slight chance of rain to the Santa Clarita Valley Wednesday night, increasing to a 40 percent chance of showers Thursday with highs around 53.

By Friday conditions will be mostly sunny again, with highs climbing to 57 Friday and into the 60s for the weekend.
