Cancer survivors invited to a 'Believe' educational breakfast

Cancer survivors from across the Santa Clarita Valley are invited to attend a "Believe" educational breakfast from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 23, at the Tournament Players Club, 26550 Heritage View Ln., Valencia 91381.

The event is free to cancer survivors over the age of 18, and those younger than 18 may be accompanied by an adult.

Guest speaker will be Alexander C. Black, MD, clinical professor of medicine with the Division of Hemotology-Oncology Department of UCLA.

The program is being hosted by the Hughes Family Foundation. This breakfast is a pre-event for cancer survivors before the American Cancer Society SCV Relay For Life, scheduled for May 30-31 at Central Park in Santa Clarita. Survivors are honored at Relay each year, taking the first lap in the 24-hour walking event and taking advantage of special programs offered in the Relay Survivor Village.
