A Canyon Country businessman will face charges of attempted, willful, deliberate and premeditated murder and solicitation of murder after allegedly trying to hire a hit man to kill his wife.

A judge ruled Wednesday that there is sufficient evidence to move forward with charges against Dino Roy Guglielmelli, 52, according to District Attorney spokeswoman Shiara Dávila-Morales.

Guglielmelli, a 20-year resident of the Santa Clarita Valley who lives in Sand Canyon and heads a natural products company, was arrested Oct. 3 on suspicion of attempted murder, according to records from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges in November.

Guglielmelli started a natural products company called Creation’s Garden in Newhall in 1993. That business is now located in the Valencia Industrial Center near Castaic Junction.

He remains in custody without bail at the North County Correctional Facility in Castaic, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Inmate Information Center.

Guglielmelli’s next court appearance is expected to be Dec. 18, according to Dávila-Morales. If convicted, he could face life in prison.
