A memorial is planned Sunday for those who wish to pay their respects to Santa Clarita Valley resident and business owner Roger Rodas and actor Paul Walker, both of whom died in a car accident in Valencia last weekend.

The memorial is scheduled to begin at noon on Sunday near Hercules Street and Kelly Johnson Parkway in Valencia — the same place the duo crashed while riding in a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT Saturday afternoon.

The two died at the scene as a result of the crash.

More than 4,600 people have indicated they will attend the memorial as of Wednesday evening, according to the Facebook page for the event, called the Paul Walker / Roger Rodas Memorial Meet.

While it is unclear if all of those people will indeed show up Sunday, anyone who does will not be able to park on the street near the crash site.

The road leading up to and going past the crash site is designated as a no parking zone, though many coming to the site have parked there regardless.

Deputies are expected to monitor the site to ensure parking laws are being followed.

“Deputies ask that people wishing to visit the area park legally and safely in appropriate and legal public parking areas,” reads a news release from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “Also, follow all pedestrian traffic laws when walking to the site.”
