Saugus Zone 4 Crime Report: theft, vandalism reported

Good morning Saugus residents. This week in Zone-4 Saugus we had eight reported Part-1 crimes. This in an increase from the average but we are still 48.8% down in crime compared from this time last year. There was a theft from a residence in the 27200 block of Banuelo Avenue on November 16th. The victim had an acquaintance at her residence who stole miscellaneous electrical equipment and pawned it at a local pawn shop. Deputies are searching for the suspect at this time.

We had a grand theft/vandalism at the corner of Haskell Canyon Road/Copperhill Drive between November 15th and November 18th. The location is a construction site where it was discovered that multiple vehicle windows had been smashed and fire extinguishers were stolen.

An assault was reported in the 25500 block of Sheffield Lane on November 20th. An altercation occurred between family members resulting in injuries. The suspect fled before deputies arrived at the location. After an extensive search deputies located the suspect the following day and placed him under arrest.

There was a vehicle stolen from the 26200 block of Bouquet Canyon Road on November 20th. The vehicle was recovered the following day in Huntington Park. Detectives are actively working the case.

A theft from an unlocked vehicle and a petty theft occurred in the 22900 block of Oakridge Drive on November 20th. The victim of the crimes stated that someone entered his unlocked vehicle, which was parked in a parking structure, and stole the car stereo. It is believed that the same individual(s) stole his bike which was locked to a pole in the parking structure near his vehicle.

A petty theft occurred in the 22300 block of Circle J Ranch Road November 18th. A witness saw two males taking a ping pong table from the backyard of a residence. Detectives are following up on leads to this incident.

The last reported Part-1 crime this week occurred at Bowman High School on November 20th. The victim left her phone unattended for a period of time. When she returned to retrieve her phone she discovered it was missing.
