Jason Pierre-Paul played for the COC Cougars as a freshman in 2007.

It’s not often that linemen score touchdowns on Sundays, let alone former Santa Clarita Valley talents.

Up 20-13 against Green Bay on Sunday, New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul intercepted a pass early in the fourth quarter and did the rest with his legs, returning the pick 24 yards for a touchdown. The play clinched the 27-13 win for the Giants, who have won four straight games.

Pierre-Paul recorded 14 sacks as a freshman on the College of the Canyons football team in 2007 before ultimately being drafted 15th overall out of South Florida in 2010.

Since then the former Cougars playmaker has excelled, reaching two Pro Bowls and capturing a Super Bowl trophy in 2011.

The 6-foot-5, 278-pound defensive end has recorded 29.5 sacks during his four-year career with New York.
