With the final leg of the redevelopment of Old Town Newhall now barely a year old, many Santa Clarita officials and business owners are praising the city’s efforts.

Some critics of the renovations note that all businesses haven’t benefited equally from the city’s investment.

Regardless of the view, it’s clear that the more than two-decade-old idea to reshape Santa Clarita’s original downtown has provided significant change.
