SANTA CLARITA - A pregnant woman was injured and taken to the hospital Thursday morning following a three-vehicle crash in Valencia, a sheriff’s deputy said.

Shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station received reports of a traffic collision in the southbound lanes of McBean Parkway between Baywood Lane and Avenue Scott, said Deputy Kirk Petersen.

“One woman was taken to Henry Mayo (Newhall Memorial Hospital),” he said, noting that her injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

“I know she was pregnant,” he said.

The three vehicles involved in the collision, all black, included a Toyota Prius, a Mazda and a Jeep Commander. The pregnant woman was driving the Jeep, Petersen said.

Motorists in the other two vehicles were not reported to have significant injuries.
