Those wishing to pay their respects to Anthony “Tony” Marincola, one of Santa Clarita Valley’s most noted World War II veterans, are invited to attend his funeral service Saturday.

Anthony Guy Marincola died Friday, surrounded by family members, at the age of 96.

Funeral services for Marincola are scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Clare’s Catholic Parish in Canyon Country. An interment at Eternal Valley will include a military salute, according to information provided by the mortuary and cemetery.

Born in New York State April 21, 1917, Marincola enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

He and his wife, Genevieve, are longtime residents of the Santa Clarita Valley. She died in August after a short illness.
