It’s been leave-your-coat-at-home weather this week in the Santa Clarita Valley, with highs heading toward 90 degrees today, but forecasters say residents should expect a cool-down over the weekend.

Tuesday’s high in Saugus was 82, rising above normal temperatures for the area this time of year. Today looks like it will be warmer yet, National Weather Service forecasters said.

Temperatures will remain in the 80s on Thursday but sink to normal mercury levels by the weekend, reaching 70 on Friday and the 60s by Saturday and Sunday under partly cloudy skies.
