A California Highway Patrol officer arrested a man on Interstate 5 who was driving a stolen car with a loaded gun in the center console, CHP Officer John Lutz said Wednesday.

Kaleahl R. Ivory-Ferguson of Fresno was arrested late Tuesday night on the shoulder of the southbound I-5 south of Templin Highway, Lutz said. The arresting officer pulled over the white Nissan Ivory-Ferguson was driving after clocking it at speeds up to 91 mph, Lutz said.

The officer determined the vehicle had been stolen from the San Joaquin Valley city of Orange Cove and, after searching the Nissan, discovered a loaded semi-automatic pistol in the console, he said.

Ivory-Ferguson, 18, was taken into custody without incident and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
