SANTA CLARITA - A candlelight vigil to honor a local couple killed in a weekend traffic collision in Mojave is scheduled to take place tonight at Central Park, said one of the event organizers.

Robert Corona Jr., 25, of Castaic, and Nicole Hoffman, 19, of Valencia, died in Antelope Valley Hospital at separate times during the weekend after being injured in the crash Friday night, Lt. John Kades of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Department said.

Both worked at the In-N-Out Burger restaurant on Bouquet Canyon Road. Corona was recently made manager, said vigil organizer Dave Forster.

The vigil is expected to begin at 7 p.m. at Central Park on Bouquet Canyon Road, he said.

“It’s to honor Robert Corona and Nicole Hoffman who were killed over the weekend,” he told The Signal today.

“It’s a time for everyone to reflect,” Forster said. “We’re going to play some of their favorite songs.”

Details are still being worked out for a fundraiser.  The vigil, however, is being held to specifically remember the couple, he said.
