Thank you, Dianne Van Hook for how you’ve transformed College of the Canyons

I began my collegiate career at College of the Canyons in the early 1980s and, even back then, Canyons was an excellent community college — and that was before Dianne Van Hook began calling the shots there.

Needless to say, Van Hook has taken a good community college and made it into a great community college.

Yes, her leadership at COC for the past 25 years now has in the making a culinary arts center, and that center should become a reality in 2014.

What is more, under Van Hook’s watch, an addition to COC has been created in Canyon Country.

With Van Hook taking command, more and more students are getting the degrees that they truly want.

Recent studies have placed COC as a superior community college. In fact, those studies went on to say that COC rates as one of the leading community colleges in Southern California.

Great teachers make great American citizens. I applaud Van Hook’s 25 years of service at COC, and I hope that she stays healthy enough to keep command at COC for another 25 tears.
