Local sheriff’s deputies are looking for gunmen who reportedly fired a shot in the direction of a woman driving in the Angeles National Forest on Sunday, officials from two law enforcement agencies said.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m. Sunday, deputies with the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station received reports of several men shooting at a forest hillside in the area of Sand Canyon Road and Bear Divide, where Sand Canyon meets Little Tujunga Canyon Road, said Officer J. Tafoya of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station.

While the men were shooting, a shot was fired at a woman driving through the same area, she said.

“They’re still looking for the suspects,” Tafoya said at 4:15 p.m.

Crescenta Valley deputies notified deputies at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station about the shooting, said Lt. Tom Bryski.

“It came in as several males shooting at the hillside,” he said. “And that they shot at her (the female motorist) as she drove by.”

No one was hurt and no shots hit the woman’s car, both Bryski and Tafoya said.

At 4:30 p.m. Sunday, deputies at both stations were looking for the suspects who fled in two vehicles — a black Lexus and a silver-colored four-door Honda.
