Fall back this Sunday as Daylight Saving Time ends

Snoozers looking for an extra hour of sleep will get their wish when Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday and everyone falls back one hour.

The time change was first adopted in the United States in 1918 in a move to maximize daylight hours. Almost one hundred years later, many still argue that there is no real benefit from the yearly time shift.

Two states — Arizona and Hawaii — ignore the phenomenon all together.

Either way, that extra hour of sleep will come in handy for those running the Santa Clarita Marathon on Sunday. It starts at 7 a.m.
