The Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center is seeking contributions to help serve 40,000 seniors in the area.

The request is part of an annual fundraising campaign launched this week called “Be the Spark.” Online and mail appeals to support the center will be included in the drive.

“We see donors as far more than just names on a list,” said center Executive Director Rachelle Dardeau in a news release.
“Our donors are partners in our mission to provide independence, dignity and quality of life” for Santa Clarita Valley seniors.

Each donor will receive a tribute on a center website at

The organization provides a wide array of services, including home repairs, health and wellness classes, trips and tours.
