The Santa Clarita City Council voted to remove the deposit fee, which will return more than $150,000 to businesses working in the city.
The city's Development Process Advisory Committee met with business owners who expressed concern that their projects would not be able to continue because they could not afford the city's Stormdrain Transfer Deposit Fee.
"The city recognizes the economic hardship many businesses and individuals are facing right now, said Mayor Frank Ferry. "The Council and Development Process Advisory Committee decided, though the fee was necessary, it would be best to remove it and allow city-based projects to continue."
