For the second year in a row, Golden Valley’s Elisa Pierre has reached the second round of the CIF girls individual golf postseason.

This year she’ll be going at it alone.

No other Foothill League golfer, out of the seven who qualified for and participated in the CIF-Southern Section Northern Division Individual Regional at the par-72 River Ridge Golf Club on Monday, moved on past the first round of a potential four.

Pierre, the newly minted Foothill League Most Valuable Player, shot a 1-over 73 and will move on to play at the CIF-SS Individual Championship and WSCGA Qualifier on Nov. 7 at Talega Golf Club in San Clemente.

Her Golden Valley teammate and freshman Justine Reblando was the closest to joining her.

The top 36 scores from the event moved on to San Clemente and 34 girls shot 77 or below.

Six girls shot a 78, including the Grizzlies freshman, which led to a playoff between the sextet.

Reblando was edged out, though, in the second round of the playoff.

“From the first league match driving to El Cariso she was so nervous then she puts up a 39. Then she goes out and puts up a 78 as a freshman and she was crying a little bit afterward. But she’s grown from a little freshman to a seasoned golfer,” said Golden Valley head coach Tony Moskal.

Hart sophomore Katie Corr shot an 80 on the day.

Her teammate and senior Lauren Yi, in her final high school match, shot a 92.

Yi was the only senior of the bunch representing the Foothill League.

West Ranch freshman and Foothill League Most Valuable Player runner-up Ashley Mayhall shot an 83 and sophomore Kate Caffrey shot an 89.

Valencia High sophomore Eunice Song shot a 90.
