BASSETT, Calif. (AP) — Authorities have found human remains at a water reclamation plant near Los Angeles — the second time in three days that remains have been discovered.

KCBS-TV says the remains were found Monday in a pool at a Los Angeles County water reclamation plant in unincorporated Bassett, about 20 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The coroner will try to discover the age, sex and identity of the remains. On Saturday, a human foot and calf were found at a county water pollution control plant in the Los Angeles suburb of Carson.

The Sheriff's Department says those remains were found in a bin holding debris separated from sewage water. Investigators haven't determined whether the two discoveries are related.
