In a room filled with some of the best and brightest of the Santa Clarita Valley, 51 citizens were honored at The Signal’s ninth annual Top 51 Most Influential People celebration Thursday night at Robinson Ranch Golf Club.

The Signal not only recognized board members and business leaders, but individuals who made a significant impact in the community.

SCV Food Pantry Executive Director Belinda Slaten Crawford, who was among the honorees of the evening, said that being involved in the community and feeding the hungry was worth all the hard work she put in for many years.

“It’s a humbling feeling,” said Crawford of the honor. “To be recognized in a room filled with individuals who made such a tremendous impact in our community makes me feel really happy to receive this award.”

Most winners said that they were surprised to be recognized, but all were thankful to their community for the honor.

First-time honoree Liz Caddow, who was recognized for developing Trinity Classical Academy into the fastestgrowing school of its kind in the country, attributed her success to the man who always stood by her side, her husband Wally.

“To take something from zero and to make it into a huge organization is worthy of recognition,” Wally said. “Not only is she a visionary and a leader, she is the wind beneath my wings and I could not be more proud of her.”

Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, the most influential on the list of the honorees, mixed with guests throughout the evening.

“I am pleased to receive this award,” Antonovich said. “I want to thank my staff because working together we’ve been able to represent the community and the various programs we’ve been able to create.”

During the evening, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour and a sit-down dinner. Sponsors for the celebratory event were EZ Access Self Storage and the Robinson Ranch Golf Club.
