Art and music patrons are set to celebrate 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 29, as "Love is in the Air" - the annual benefit of the Santa Clarita Creative Guild - unfolds in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt Valencia.
The art show will feature paintings, sculptures, arts/craft and other forms of visual art.
The event will feature three Santa Clarita Valley artists, Lorelle Miller, Laura Wambsgans and Romeo Downer, who will offer an live art exhibition. In addition, a Youth Art Exhibit for budding young artists will be presented by Mission Renaissance.
The fundraiser for the Creative Guild will also offer a silent auction featuring art and non-art items.
Art lovers will be able to vote for the winners of the "Public Choice Awards" for the three top honors.
The day will also feature a concert from the "Back on Track" music group with their farewell performance before the groups leaves for its Asian tour. The threesome of Gary Friedman, Bary Lederman and Mary Courtney will serenade art patrons with jazz, folk and contemporary songs. In addition, the SCV duo of Sheila Colby and Dezzi Rae Marshall belt out Broadway and popular tunes.
Refreshments will be served, with a no-host bar.
The event will benefit various art enrichment programs of the Guild, geared for the SCV Youth and the SCV Senior Center.
The event also seeks to promote SCV artists and raise community awarenss of the visual art.
Many of the participating artists are members of the Santa Clarita Artists Association - a sponsor of the event. Tickets are $25 (prepaid) and $40 at the door.
