SANTA CLARITA - A woman was taken to the hospital from a house fire near Friendly Valley on Tuesday morning, officials said.

The woman, whose identity was not disclosed, suffered minor injuries and was treated for smoke inhalation, said one firefighter from Fire Station 104 on Golden Valley Road.

Firefighters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to reports of a house fire just before 8 a.m. at the end of Avenue of the Oaks northeast of Golden Valley High School, a spokeswoman with the Fire Department said.

The house is at the very end of the Avenue of the Oaks cul-de-sac.

“It came in as a reported house fire,” the Fire Department spokeswoman said. “They reported it as a well-involved attic fire.”

A firefighter who helped in extinguishing the blaze said firefighting efforts were complicated due to “heavy storage” found in the attic.

“Taking all that stuff down from there was time-consuming,” he said.
