Santa Clarita city officials will host a public meeting Wednesday night to present and discuss the Soledad Canyon Corridor plan, a proposal to guide future development in downtown Canyon Country.

Residents and business owners along Soledad Canyon Road between Camp Plenty Road and Solamint Road have been invited to attend the workshop, but all residents in Santa Clarita are welcome, city officials said.

Corridor plans address the relationship between buildings in a business district and public spaces around them.

The goal is to create an environment that unifies the district while also connecting streets and walking areas, highlighting public spaces like plazas and squares.

The plan hinges on input from the public, city officials say.

The meeting runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Canyon Country Library, 18601 Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country.

A website dedicated to city corridor plans is available at santaclaritacorridorplan.com.
