A motorcyclist who allegedly fled from California Highway Patrol officers on Sierra Highway Friday will enter a plea to two charges in Santa Clarita Superior Court today, a court official said.

Jacob Gardner, 29, faces one count of felony evasion and a felony weapon possession charge for allegedly speeding away from a traffic stop on Sierra Highway late Friday night, Officer Robert Lund said.

Highway Patrol officers chased Gardner, who lost control of the bike on a sharp turn and hit an embankment, Lund said.

A CHP officer found a gun on Gardner during his arrest, Officer Michelle Esposito said.

Gardner is being held in lieu of $35,000 bail.
