SANTA CLARITA - Some government offices will be closed Monday — but not just those shut down by the federal government’s budget stalemate.

The ones closed due to the Columbus Day holiday are expected to reopen the next day.

The Santa Clarita Courthouse and the United States Post Office will close in observance of the holiday.

But parking citations can still be paid online. Visit to find out how.

Santa Clarita City Hall will remain open on Monday, as will all Santa Clarita Valley school districts and libraries.

Trash pick-up and transit services will continue on their regular schedules.

Bank closures will be determined by each branch. Local businesses closures will also be left to the owners’ discretion.
