They should know better

To The Editor:

It seems "fashionable" for some members of Santa Clarita's City Council to claim stupidity when they get caught with their hand in the cookie jar. It appears as though all a person has to say when they get caught is: "I'm sorry, I didn't know the law," or "I may have violated state law."

And one of these statements comes from a person who holds a bachelor's degree in governmental communications from California State University, Northridge, a bachelor's degree in law, and a juris
doctorate.

The other Hand in the Cookie Jar Award goes to a person who spent 25 years with the Los Angeles Police Department and then as a supervisor in charge of reserve officer training at the police academy.

And shame on the person running for City Council who accepted funds to pay for the mailers. Is this a good example of someone we want to have in our City Council?

Thanks to The Signal for uncovering this information so that the citizens of Santa Clarita found out what was going on before the election.
