Chuck and Toni Miltenberger recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Salt Creek Grille in Valencia.

The event was organized and provided by the couple’s children and grandchildren. After the meal, the couple left in their restored 1950 Westcraft vintage trailer for a three-week road trip to the lovely Lake Louise Chateau in Banff, Alberta, Canada.

Along the way to their destination, they had opportunities to visit longtime family and friends who were in or attended their wedding.

Chuck and Toni met while attending San Fernando High School, and the high-school sweethearts married in 1963 in the summer before their junior year at California State University Northridge, formerly San Fernando Valley State College.

Chuck majored in mathematics and engineering. Toni specialized in elementary education and later earned two master’s degrees in counseling and administration from the University of LaVerne.

After college graduation, Chuck worked in electronics and began his own business in 1971. Toni went to work for the Los Angeles Union School District from 1965-1979.

In 1982, she joined the William S. Hart Union High School District as an instructional assistant, and she went back to teaching in 1984 at Sierra Vista Junior High.

Later, she became a counselor at Bowman High School, an assistant principal at Hart High School and retired as an assistant principal at Arroyo Seco Junior High in 2002. She was also administrator and principal for the University of LaVerne Summer School Program in the Hart District for three years.

Chuck especially enjoys working on and restoring old cars, trucks and trailers, while Toni relaxes by making photo books for family and friends, as well as reading and organizing vintage trailer events.

Together they enjoy their cross country road trips, vintage trailer rallies, motorcycle sidecar, kayaking, canoeing, family and friends.

The Miltenberger family moved to Saugus in 1979.

The whole family came together in Santa Clarita to honor this joyous and momentous occasion, and the family presented Cuck and Toni with a family portrait and humorous DVD of their 50 years together.
