To The Editor:

The city of Santa Clarita has evolved over the past two decades with worthy expansion and development. As we move toward the future, though, the viability of our infrastructure will depend on those who recognize balance between our social and economic needs. Until now, the needs of our senior population have largely been ignored.

With the baby boom generation entering seniorhood, Santa Clarita can expect the elder population to grow exponentially. In order for there to be balance socially and economically, it is crucial to have a City
Council person who advocates senior issues.

Diane Trautman has been instrumental in finding solutions to senior problems and bringing them to the forefront. In leading the SOS (Save Our Senior) Committee, she has fought for senior low-income housing, battled against senior homelessness, and educated seniors on legal housing rights.

We know Diane's experience as a planning commissioner and critical thinker, as well as her civic accomplishments, will benefit our city.

But her role as senior advocate will ensure balance is achieved in our community. If Diane Trautman is elected, everyone - especially our frail and vulnerable - will have a voice.
