Demonstrations and displays from Fire, Sheriff, CHP, Public Health, CERT, Henry Mayor Hospital, Animal Care and Control. Opportunity to purchase emergency supplies and services. Preparedness learning games for children. Chances to win safety helmets and many other prizes. This event is free. April 5
"The Newhall Incident" 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society. A retired Newhall California Highway Patrol officer, Harry Ingold, one of the first officers on the scene following the massacre, will speak on the 1979 tragedy where four young CHP officers were gunned down on April 5, 1970 in the lot of a Standard Service Station next to J's Coffee Shop on what is now the intersection of the Old Road and Magic Mountain Parkway in Valencia. Held at the Saugus Train Station in Heritage Junction at William S. Hart Park, 24101 Newhall Avenue (formerly San Fernando Road) in Newhall.
