A man was robbed at gunpoint by three men Wednesday near the Santa Clarita Metrolink Station at Soledad Canyon Road and Commuter Way, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

Deputies responded to a report of a man robbed near the station shortly after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, said Sgt. Brian Allen of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The victim described his attackers as three men in their mid-30s and their getaway car as a gray Chrysler 300 driven by a man described as heavyset with neck tattoos and wearing a red sweater.

The robbers allegedly took a cellphone, three $100 bills, about $100 in miscellaneous currency and some medication belonging to the victim.

One of the robbers was armed with a shotgun, another with a handgun, Allen said.

The victim was not physically harmed.

About 3:15 p.m., deputies stopped a gray Chrysler 300 matching the description of the getaway car on Sierra Highway at Newhall Avenue.

But the three men detained in the car were not the wanted suspects, Allen said.

“It matched pretty much the description of the suspect vehicle but it wasn’t the one,” he said.

The suspects were still being sought.
