Coming off their first varsity victory in school history last week, the Albert Einstein Academy Rockets were hoping to double that total on Saturday when they traveled to take on the Calvary Chapel Grizzlies in Downey.

The Rockets came about as about as close as they could have hoped, too, but a late touchdown by the Grizzlies proved the difference in a 21-20 victory over Einstein.

AEA picked up its first win on Sept. 14, a 42-38 victory over Indian Springs.

On Saturday, Rockets quarterback Josh Greaves put AEA on the board in the first quarter with a touchdown to Adam Costanza, and hit Alex Cervantes in the second to give Einstein a 14-8 lead.

AEA would extend that later in the half on a touchdown-run by Justin Hill to set the halftime score at 20-15 AEA.

The Rockets failed to extend the lead in the second half, but kept the Grizzlies off the board, too.

But with more than six minutes remaining, Calvary Chapel put together a five minute scoring drive to take the lead for good.

Einstein had one final shot after recovering the ensuing onside kick attempt at the 50.

But the offense would go four-and-out on its final possession.
