Canyon Country West Crime Report: deputies investigate robbery and assault

This past week in Zone 7, the following Part-1 Crimes occurred:

(1) Robbery, (1) Aggravated Assault, (4) Residential Burglaries, (1) Commercial Burglary, (4) Shoplift, (1) Grand Theft and (2) Petty Theft.

A robbery/carjacking occurred near the intersection of Fanchon Lane and Rainbow Glen Drive. The victim met the suspect through a Craigslist Ad, in an attempt to sell his vehicle. During the test drive, the suspect drove a short distance then asked the victim to open the front passenger door. When the victim opened the door, the suspect kicked the victim with both of his feet, knocking the victim out of the vehicle. The suspect then drove away, out of view. The case is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Detectives.

An aggravated assault with a vehicle occurred near the 18500 block of Soledad Canyon Road. An altercation over a parking spot escalated as the suspect grew angry and drove toward the victim, striking him in the legs with his vehicle. The suspect then sped off in an unknown direction. The case is currently under investigation.

A residential garage burglary occurred near the 19800 block of Sierra Highway. An unknown suspect entered the victim’s garage and took several items. There were no signs of forced entry into the garage.

A residential burglary occurred near the 19600 block of Monarch Ridge Drive. Upon arriving home, the victim noticed the interior of his residence was ransacked and several thousands of dollars was missing from his bedroom. Entry into the residence was possibly made through an open window or a rear sliding glass door.

There were three shoplift burglaries/petty thefts that occurred near the 26400 block of Carl Boyer Drive. The incidents resulted in six arrests. There was an additional arrest made for petty theft/shoplifting near the 18600 block of Via Princessa.
