The Hart Indians girls tennis team took two important steps during its Wednesday afternoon match with Calabasas at Hart High School.

First, the doubles side matched the vaunted Hart singles side with six wins apiece in a 12-6 victory over the Coyotes, and second, Proyfon Lohaphaisan played one of the best matches Hart head coach Chris Mansfield had ever seen from the junior.

The doubles team of Lauren Dam and Bailey Sindle continued its undefeated run through the preleague schedule, winning three sets 6-0, 6-4, 6-1.

Maddison Ladanyi and Carissa Costanza won two sets and Sheridan Mott and Cassie Wilkinson won one.

The performances were nice to see for Mansfield, whose team features what is widely considered the best singles lineup in the Foothill League.

“Definitely, that’s what I’m looking for; more contribution from my doubles,” Mansfield said,

The singles lineup wasn’t without its struggles, though, facing the tough Calabasas junior Jensyn Warren.

“That was one of the best players I’ve ever seen in my life,” Mansfield said. “I told the girls I’d pay to watch them play.”

Warren swept the Indians, defeating Jackie Resler 6-2, Natalia Munoz 6-4 and Lohaphaisan 7-6.

“(Lohaphaisan’s) ground strokes were so strong and powerful, it’s the hardest I’ve ever seen her hit and keep the ball in play all the time. Very consistent. If she can play like this, it’s going to be a battle against anybody. Especially my other two singles players.”
