Walk to end Alzheimer’s coming to Bridgeport Park

SANTA CLARITA - A walk to raise money for and awareness about Alzheimer’s disease will be held this Saturday at Bridgeport Park in Valencia.

The event, dubbed the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, is put on by the Alzheimer’s Association and is meant to raise money and awareness for care and support of Alzheimer’s patients, as well as push research for the disease.

The mission of the association is to eliminate the disease and to provide and enhance support and care for those affected by it, according to a news release.

Alzheimer’s disease is a form of dementia that worsens as it progresses. There is no known cure at this time.

As many as 800 will take part in the walk Saturday, according to a news release.

That walk begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at Bridgeport Park, 23520 Bridgeport Lane, according to a news release.
Registration for the event starts at 7 a.m. with opening ceremonies beginning at 8:30 a.m., according to a news release
