At least two people were injured and taken to the hospital Wednesday morning following a multi-vehicle crash in Canyon Country, a sergeant for the California Highway Patrol said.

“I’m not sure how many people were hurt, at least a couple,” CHP Sgt. John Lutz said Wednesday.

At 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, at least eight vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of Highway 14 near Soledad Canyon Road, shutting down traffic in all southbound lanes.

The occupant of one car that apparently spun out and was facing the wrong direction was found passed out in the car, according to early reports from the crash site reported by responding CHP officers.  They reported at least two people hurt in the pileup.

Paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived at the crash site at 5:33 a.m.
Motorists, many of them morning commuters, began driving along the center median to pass the pileup, according to the CHP.

Some of the vehicles involved in the crash included a large truck, two silver-colored cars and a white car.
All lanes were re-opened to traffic shortly before 8 a.m.
