Members of JSB Development will present plans for a "town center-designed, transit-focused community" proposed for 185 acres of vacant property in Canyon Country at the next Valley Industrial Association luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Valencia Country Club, 27330 Tourney Road in Valencia.

It is estimated that more than 50 percent of the 40,000 employees working in the Valencia Industrial Park do not live in Santa Clarita, according to an association press release.

The association has been instrumental in researching alternatives, developing processes and identifying key partners that will be necessary to resolve the issue.

JSB Development's Vista Canyon development project strives to achieve a work-live balance. Vista Canyon is envisioned as a transit-oriented, walkable community that will bring significant new amenities to the east side of the Santa Clarita Valley.

Primary design components include: a town center with shops and restaurants, specialty grocer and hotel; a Metrolink station; a corporate campus with professional, technical, managerial and medical jobs; three parks and a multi-use trail system for pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians.

The business luncheon is open to the public. Cost is $40 for VIA members and $50 for non-members. Reservations can be made by calling VIA at (661) 294-8088 or by visiting www.via.org.
