Detectives still looking for two men who stabbed a 25-year-old Canyon Country man Sunday are waiting to talk to the hospitalized victim, the lead investigator said Tuesday.

“We’ve got to wait for the victim to talk to us,” sheriff’s Sgt. Dean Currie said Tuesday. “He can’t talk yet.” The victim’s name was not released.

The man was attacked in Newhall about 8:10 p.m. Sunday after his car was intentionally rammed by that of his attacker. He was stabbed after the collision, according to local sheriff’s officials.

Detectives said Monday they suspect two men in a late 1990s Chevy Impala crashed into the victim’s car intentionally in the 23600 block of Newhall Avenue, then got out and stabbed the victim.

The attack was believed to be gang related or the result of a road rage incident.
