Beliefs aren’t available in one -size-fits-all

Those on the left, center, and right all think they know best — in fact, that may be the only thing they do agree upon.

And therein lies the truth, if you really want to boil it down: by definition, nobody is always right — and that includes groups of nobodies, including those who think they are “compromising” at the “center.”

Therefore, imposing an answer upon others, against their will, is wrong ... whether the question is how much to save for retirement or what insurance policy to have, or how to spend money, or how much to donate, or how to run a business, or even whether or not to be a jerk.

If you are not imposing upon others’ actual freedom of action, you get to decide those things ... but only for yourself.

In other words, there is no one-size-fits-all in anything except the security of peaceful coexistence (because that is the only thing that everyone can be accurately said to desire for themselves).

Therefore, deciding things by a “centrist” rubric, or a “progressive” mindset, or a “democratic” principle without individual rights (i.e., peaceful free choice) trumping all is just plain wrong.
