SANTA CLARITA - The sister of a Burbank man missing since July said Monday she fears the body found near a crashed car in the Angeles National Forest is that of her brother.

At 6 a.m. Monday, detectives with the sheriff’s Homicide Bureau and investigators with the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner were called to an isolated stretch of the Angeles Crest Highway where a car had been discovered at the bottom of a ravine Sunday afternoon, said Sgt. Rich Pena.

The vehicle, found 400 feet down the ravine at mile marker 65 on the winding highway, was linked to Gevork Boyadzhyan, who was last seen leaving his Burbank home July 20 in a white 2010 Lexus. Boyadzhyan was reported missing July 24.

No details of the investigation in the steep mountain terrain were released late Monday afternoon.

“Our homicide detectives are up there,” Pena said. “They’re trying to determine if there is anything suspicious about it and whether or not there’s been foul play.”

Anna Akilyan, sister of Boyadzhyan, called The Signal on Monday seeking information about the body found near the car.

“Nobody has heard anything,” Akilyan said of her family, which posted a Facebook page in a bid to help find him. “We’re just praying.”
