TORRANCE, Calif. (AP) — A Southern California utility said Sunday it had restored power to all of its customers after a broad outage in the South Bay that affected more than 100,000 customers at its peak.

Customers in the cities and communities of Torrance, Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, Gardena, Lomita, Rancho Palos Verdes and Palos Verdes Estates were all without power at some point Sunday morning, said Southern California Edison spokesman David Song.

The outage began just after 7 a.m. because of downed power lines in Torrance.

Crews worked throughout the day to isolate the cause and restore power, Song said.

A full investigation into the outage will likely take several weeks, he added.

The blackout snarled traffic and caused long waits at intersections across the South Bay.
